Performers' Rights: An Evening of Discussion and Performance


New IP Lawyers are pleased to invite you to an evening of discussion on Performers' Rights with a key note speech from The Hon Mr Justice Arnold.

Time: 5:30pm - 8:30pm, registration opens at 5pm
Venue: The Digital Catapult Centre, 101 Euston Road, London, NW1 2RA. The venue is located on the south side of Euston Road directly opposite The British Library, between King’s Cross St Pancras and Euston stations.
Fee: £10 per person
Food and Drink: free flowing red and white wine, beer and soft drinks. Plus nibbles, olives, nuts, crisps, dips.

6:45 – 7:00: “Distributed ownership: the place of performers’ rights in musical practice” Dr Ananay Aguilar (University of Cambridge)

7:00 – 7:10: Questions and discussion, chaired by Professor Charlotte Waelde, Coventry University

7:10 – 7:25: “Hello… It’s the Singers from the Other Side: Sinhala Singers’ Performers’ Rights Dream” Dr Gowri Nanayakkara (Senior Lecturer in Law, Canterbury Christ Church University)

7:25 – 7:35: Questions and discussion chaired by Professor Charlotte Waelde, Coventry University

7:35– 7:45: Closing remarks

7:45pm: Drinks, nibbles and performance by The Belladona Brigade
